Living God's Love - the Bishop of St Albans is encouraging us to:
A prayer has been written for us to use in our homes and at meetings:
Collect for this week, the Sixth Sunday of Easter:
God our redeemer, you have delivered us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of your Son: grant, that as by his death he has recalled us to life, so by his continual presence in us he may raise us to eternal joy; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
In your prayers this week please:
GIVE THANKS FOR
» the gift of baptism, through which we are united with God and other Christians
» the gift of friendship – with each other and with God
PRAY FOR
» your godparents or godchildren, if you have them
» a greater obedience to God’s call, that you may bear fruit for him
» the continuing work and witness of Christian Aid
» the relief of those suffering through drought, famine, war, violence and those living under tyranny or oppression
» Craig and Jennifer Elliott; Stefan and Caroline de Groot who were married at St Lawrence yesterday
» Tiny Tots and its leaders
» those who worship at St Lawrence Church
» those who live in Heather Close, Helston Place and Henderson Place
» those who are ill or in any kind of need
» the souls of those who have recently died; and for families who have been bereaved
PRAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AT ST LUKE'S HOSPITAL, MALOSA, MALAWI
Through the charity USPG, we have committed ourselves to supporting this hospital both through our prayers and financially through our end of year charitable giving allocations:
» for Dr Stockler, who arrived in Malawi in January, the Senior Medical Officer at St Luke’s Hospital
» that the need be met for a larger maternity unit to include more beds, a shower unit and recovery room at the Nkasala Health Clinic
» as they cope with the everyday challenges of running the facility having only a limited supply of drugs, basic nursing items and lack of fuel for their only ambulance
