Parish Prayers
Please contact us if you would like us to pray for you or someone you know.
Living God's Love - the Bishop of St Albans is encouraging us to:
- Go Deeper into God
- Transform Communities
- Make New Disciples
A prayer has been written for us to use in our homes and at meetings:
Living God,draw us deeper into your love;
Jesus our Lord,
send us to care and serve;
Holy Spirit,
make us heralds of good news.
Stir us, strengthen us,
teach and inspire us
to live your love
with generosity and joy,
imagination and courage;
for the sake of your world
and in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
There is plenty of opportunity to use St Lawrence for prayer during the week - the church is open between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm daily for you to find time quietly on your own, or you could join in the corporate prayer times, either formally or informally:
Morning Prayer is said each weekday at 9.30 am and Evening Prayer at 5.15 pm.
On Wednesday there is a time of Quiet Reflection at 11.15 am in the Corpus Christi Chapel in St Lawrence - an opportunity to sit and reflect on a few words of introduction by a team of leaders, both clerical and lay. This is followed by a service of Holy Communion at 12.00 noon, which in turn is followed by a light lunch in the Breakspear Room.
On Thursday between 8.15 and 8.45 am prayers are said specifically for the parish and community.
If you would like someone or a situation prayed for on a particular day then please make contact either via the contact us page or pop into the Church Office or come along to one of the prayer times.
There are candles in the church for you to light to remind you of a loved one as you pray for them - feel free to pop in any time the church is open; you can also leave a message so that others can pray with you, too.
