The Choir
At St Lawrence the choir plays an integral role in the worship of the church. Made up of mixed adult voices and some younger voices, many of whom sing with other choirs and music groups, the choir is dedicated and experienced and sings a broad repertoire from Tallis and Byrd through to Rutter. For major services, the choir numbers in excess of 20.
The choir rehearses weekly and sings the main 9.30 a.m. Parish Communion (except on the second Sunday of the month). In addition, the choir also sings at all major festivals and civic services as well as at weddings when requested, and the occasional Choral Evensong.
If you are interested in joining the church choir, please get in touch (see the contact us page) or come along to a Sunday morning service. Members range from the very experienced to those who have very recently come to music. Every effort will be made to accommodate your experience; all we ask for is enthusiasm and commitment!
You can find out more about joining the choir by looking at our choir flyer.

Mothers' Union
The MU is especially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life. To achieve this they try to develop prayer and spiritual growth and resource their members to take practical action to improve conditions for families, internationally, nationally and in the community in which they live. They meet together in St Lawrence Church Hall at 10.45 a.m. (after the 10.15 a.m. Holy Communion in church) on the second Wednesday of the month. One evening a month they meet in the Church of the Ascension, Bedmond at 8.00 p.m. for discussion or to hear visiting speakers. Visitors are always welcome to any meeting. Please see the monthly calendar on this website for details of meetings.
